FAQs

Are there any prerequisites to Level 1?

No, however I strongly recommended that you have at least one Reiki session before deciding to pursue Reiki. I offer a no-pressure 50-minute Reiki session to prospective students for $40, which includes time at the the end to debrief and answer any questions you may have about starting your Reiki journey.

Are there any prerequisites to Level 2?

Yes, you must have a Level 1 certificate, taken within the last 3 years, in-person (not online) and from a verifiable Reiki Master. You will also need to have been practising Reiki since obtaining your Level 1. If you have any questions about your qualifications, just contact me and we can discuss what is the best path forward.

How do I pay for my workshop?

I do not ask students for a deposit. Simply bring cash the day of. Prices are all-inclusive. Receipts will be issued if you need or want one. I do not take personal cheques.

What if I am unable to make a workshop that I’m registered for?

Life happens. If you are unable to attend, please just let me know. A minimum of 48 hours advance notice is appreciated.

If you are feeling unwell the morning of your workshop, do not attend – let me know, and do it another time.

What kind of post-workshop support can I expect?

Lots! You will be welcome to practise your new skills at any of my open clinics, which run during the fall, winter, and spring. I supervise and mentor at these, and provide an opportunity afterwards for discussion.

Students are always welcome to connect with me for practise-related questions or concerns. I encourage open communication, and I’m here to support you on your path.

What should I bring to the workshop?

Bring a lunch and any snacks (fridge provided), a notebook if desired, and pen/pencil. Your workbook is 3-hole punched, so you may want to bring a binder.

I provide hot and cold beverages. Please refrain from consuming alcohol the night before, to ensure you are fresh and ready to be aligned with Reiki energy.

Is there parking available?

There is plenty of free parking on-site.

Where exactly are workshops held?

Workshops are held at my home location, 1102 Horseshoe Valley Road West, Barrie ON. You will receive the unit # prior to attending. Please note I am on the 3rd floor with stairs-only access (i.e. no elevator).

Do you need a minimum number of students in order for a workshop to run?

When I took my reiki training, I hated being put on waitlists and waiting for months for “enough” students to register. As a result, I don’t require minimum student numbers. This means that some workshops are 1:1 – a tremendous benefit to the student, who gets my undivided attention for the whole day.

I cap the number of students per workshop at 4, to ensure that everyone is getting a quality training.

Can you explain how the volunteers work?

I maintain a list of enthusiastic local volunteers whom I draw on for student practise. Volunteers are invited during the afternoon portion of the day, and we work on them together. Working on volunteers has a very different feel than working on other students. It’s more “real,” and you’ll leave much more confident in your abilities.

What is an attunement?

A reiki attunement is a direct energetic transmission from teacher to student. It is a simple yet powerful time-honoured process where the student sits quietly in a chair with eyes closed, while the Reiki Master uses light touch, symbols, and intention to open and align the student’s channels. You may feel various sensations, or receive insights, or just feel a peaceful calm.

What kind of guidance readings do you do?

I offer clients a short guidance reading as part of the Reiki session if there is interest, using the Lenormand card deck.
